By a vote of 29-to-15, City Council chose to immediately dissolve the current nine-member Commission and create a new governing board comprising of seven elected Councillors and four private citizens on March 5.

Returning to the newly-formed Commission are: Karen Stintz (Ward 16 Eglinton-Lawrence), Maria Augimeri (Ward 9 York Centre), Peter Milczyn (Ward 5 Etobicoke-Lakeshore) and John Parker (Ward 26 Don Valley West). The remaining three new board members are: Glenn De Baeremaeker (Ward 38 Scarborough Centre), Raymond Cho (Ward 42 Scarborough-Rouge River) and Josh Colle (Ward 15 Eglinton-Lawrence).

City Councillors immediately voted to re-elect Stintz as TTC Chair. The Vice-Chair will be one of the citizen members to be appointed in the months ahead.

Last December, the former Commission approved a report that established the criteria for public/citizen representation on the Board and to ensure they have an appropriate skill-set to meet the needs of the TTC, ranging from strategic business management to customer service to labour relations/industrial safety management.
