Byford shocks Queensway Operator with surprise visit

CEO Andy Byford made a surprise visit to Kipling Station to say thanks to Queensway Operator Ewa Kozlowska on Sept. 11.

Byford boarded Kozlowska’s Kipling bus and announced to riders his appreciation for her actions on Aug. 20 when she, and a busload of her customers, became trapped under high-voltage wires on Kipling Avenue.

“Her training and professionalism kicked in and she knew immediately that she shouldn’t let her customers off the bus for fear of electrocution. Today, I just wanted to honour Ewa for a fantastic job,” he told the bus riders.

Kozlowska received a framed copy of the Sept. 7 Toronto Moves page featuring her story and a round of applause from her customers.

This time the Queensway Operator was shocked and delighted by the unexpected event.
