Victoria Park remake earns Toronto Urban Design Award


The TTC won an Urban Design Award from the City of Toronto for its work on the Victoria Park Bus Terminal Replacement. The Award of Excellence was presented in the category, Buildings in Context – Public, on Sept. 11.

The TTC won an Urban Design Award from the City of Toronto for its work on the Victoria Park Bus Terminal Replacement. The Award of Excellence was presented in the category, Buildings in Context – Public, on Sept. 11.

The project team included TTC staff and consulting firms, SGA/IBI Architects, Scott Torrance Landscape Architect, and Brown+ Storey Architects Inc. 
The modernization job has improved the customer experience, made the station accessible and barrier-free and addressed structural deterioration.

The Urban Design Awards are presented every other year to acknowledge the significant contribution that architects, landscape architects, urban designers, artists, design students and city builders make to the look and livability of the city.

Victoria Park received the Sustainable Communities Award ;from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities last February.
