30 billion riders carried


On Mon., Aug. 3, 2015 (Simcoe Day), somewhere on a bus or streetcar or subway train the TTC carried its 30 billionth customer.

On Mon., Aug. 3, 2015 (Simcoe Day), somewhere on a bus or streetcar or subway train the TTC carried its 30 billionth customer. To mark the ridership milestone, longtime MDP subscriber, Grant Scott of Toronto, was selected to receive a free Metropasses for a year. It was presented to him by TTC Chair Josh Colle and CEO Andy Byford at Davisville Station on Aug. 24. The 31 billionth rider is expected in spring 2017. Here are previous billion-rider milestone dates:

  • The 29 billionth customer was carried on Sept. 27, 2013.
  • The 28 billionth customer was carried on Oct. 15, 2011.
  • The 27 billionth customer was carried on Sept. 24, 2009.
  • The 26 billionth customer was carried on Aug. 1, 2007.
  • The 25 billionth customer was carried on May 3, 2005.
