The Spadina Subway Extension achieved a major milestone in July when a major concrete pour was conducted at the Vaughan Metropolitan Station construction site.

On July 4-5, the TTC and its contractor poured more than 2,200 cubic metres worth of concrete, which formed the roof of the terminal station.

Check out the time lapse video posted on the TTC YouTube channel (link also available on the homepage). It can also be viewed on workplace TTC-TV screens and the TTCasts on the intranet (internal website).

Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is located north of Highway 7 to the west side of the relocated Millway Avenue. The terminal station will be a multi-modal transportation hub with an off-street passenger-pick-up-and-drop-off area, and connections to York Region Transit (YRT) Bus Terminal and to the Viva Bus Rapidway, which will run in the centre of Highway 7.

The 8.6-km extension is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
