Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Service


The TTC will provide frequent, convenient service to Pan Am/Parapan Am Games venues in Toronto. Service to the major venues is listed below. In addition, more frequent service will be operated throughout the TTC system where required.

The TTC will provide frequent, convenient service to Pan Am/Parapan Am Games venues in Toronto. Service to the major venues is listed below. In addition, more frequent service will be operated throughout the TTC system where required. Service on Sunday, July 12 and Sunday, July 19 will be the same as on Saturdays, and will start earlier in the morning, at approximately 6 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. Service on Sunday, July 26 will operate on a holiday level of service, operating on Sunday service schedules, but starting earlier, at approximately 6 a.m.

Subway service on Sunday, Aug. 9 starts at 6 a.m.

CIBC Pan Am Park (PAP, Pan Am Games only)/Ontario Place West Channel (OPW)
These venues, at Exhibition Place, will be served by four TTC routes from five subway stations:

  • 509 Harbourfront streetcars from Union Station
  • 511 Bathurst streetcars from Bathurst Station
  • 29 Dufferin buses from Dufferin and Wilson stations
  • 193 Exhibition Rocket non-stop express buses from Dundas West Station

CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Fieldhouse (PAC)/University of Toronto Scarborough Tennis Centre (UTS, Parapan Am Games only)
These venues, at U of T Scarborough, will be served by four TTC routes from four TTC and one GO Transit station:

  • 38 Highland Creek buses from Scarborough Centre Station and Rouge Hill GO Station
  • 95 York Mills buses from York Mills Station
  • 194 Aquatics Centre Rocket non-stop express buses from Don Mills Station
  • 198 U of T Scarborough Rocket express buses from Kennedy Station
  • 408 Venue Shuttle East will operate from Aquatics Centre Loop to UTS during the Parapan Am Games only

CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium (YOR)/Canadian Tennis Centre (CTC)
These venues, at York University, will be served by three TTC routes from four TTC subway stations:

  • 60 Steeles West buses from Finch Station
  • 195 Jane Rocket express buses from Jane Station
  • 196 York University Rocket express buses from Sheppard-Yonge and Downsview stations

Varsity Stadium (VAR)
This venue is within walking distance of St George Station.

Pan Am/Parapan Am Fields (PAF)
This venue, on the U of T St George campus, is within walking distance of Queen’s Park Station. For customers with mobility needs, a 406 Venue Shuttle Downtown route will provide accessible bus service from St George and Queen’s Park stations to a stop at St George Street and Willcocks Street.

Ryerson Athletic Centre (RYA)
This venue is within walking distance of College Station. For customers requiring accessible service from the subway, a 406 Venue Shuttle Downtown route will provide accessible bus service from St George and Queen’s Park stations.

PAN AM GAMES SERVICE CHANGES – Effective July 12, 2015, unless otherwise noted

194 AQUATICS CENTRE ROCKET

  • Pan Am/Parapan Am Games service
    This temporary non-stop express service will operate between Don Mills Station and the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Fieldhouse, located near to the U of T Scarborough campus, on Military Trail at Morningside Avenue. Buses will stop only at Don Mills Station and at the temporary Aquatics Centre Loop, located south of Military Trail and north of Ellesmere Road, a short walk from the venue. Buses will operate every 10 to 12 minutes at all times. The first day of Pan Am service on this route will be Thursday, July 9, and the last day will be Saturday, July 25. The first day of Parapan Am service on this route will be Saturday, August 8 and the last day will be to Friday, August 14.

7 BATHURST

  • Vehicle type change – Pan Am Games
    Monday-Friday service on this route will be temporarily converted to use 12-metre buses, instead of the 18-metre articulated buses normally used. Buses will operate every five to 13 minutes.

511 BATHURST

  • Service increase – Pan Am Games
    Service will be increased. Streetcars will operate every four to five minutes. Service will be provided by both the new low-floor streetcars and the older high-floor streetcars.

172 CHERRY STREET

  • Route extension to City Hall – Pan Am/Parapan Am Games
    The route will be extended to City Hall on Queen Street so that direct service is provided between the Athletes’ Village and the medal presentation and celebration site at Nathan Philips Square. Buses will operate every 10 minutes. Buses will follow the regular route to York Street, and then will operate north on York Street, east on Queen Street, south on Bay Street, and east on King Street to the regular route.

502 DOWNTOWNER

  • Temporary bus operation – Pan Am Games
    This route will operate with buses, instead of streetcars, so that enough streetcars are available for increased service to the Pan Am Games. Streetcar operation will resume on Monday, July 27.

29 DUFFERIN

  • Route change – Pan Am Games
    Service will be increased, and will operate between Dufferin Station and the Exhibition every few minutes. Service at the Exhibition will terminate at all times at Dufferin Gate Loop.

193 EXHIBITION ROCKET

  • Pan Am Games service
    This temporary non-stop express service will operate between Dundas West Station and the Exhibition. Buses will stop only at Dundas West Station and at the Exhibition (Dufferin Gates). Buses will operate every 10 at all times. The first day of Pan Am service on this route will be Saturday, July 11, and the last day of service will be Sunday, July 26.

    Service will be increased during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday. Buses will operate every 10 minutes or better between Scarborough Centre Station and U of T Scarborough.

195 JANE ROCKET

  • Service increase – Pan Am/Parapan Am Games
    Service will be increased. Buses will operate every 10 minutes at most times. Later service will be operated on Saturday and Sunday.

    Southbound/westbound service will be diverted to operate via Ellesmere Road and Morningside Avenue, instead of via Ellesmere Road, Military Trail, and Morningside Avenue, to avoid congestion from the Pan Am Aquatics Centre venue. There will be no change to the eastbound/northbound routing.

60 STEELES WEST

  • Service increase – Pan Am Games
    Service on the 60F (Finch Stn-York U Express) branch will be increased, and will be operated during the midday and early evening from Monday to Friday, and during the daytime and early evening on Saturday and Sunday. Buses will operate every 10 minutes.

Service will be provided by both the new low-floor streetcars and the older high-floor streetcars.

198 U OF T SCARBOROUGH ROCKET

  • Service increase – Pan Am/Parapan Am Games
    Service will be increased. Service will be operated later from Monday to Friday, and new service will be operated during the daytime and early evening on Saturday and Sunday. Buses will operate every 10 minutes at all times.

  • Buses will terminate the temporary Aquatics Centre Loop, located south of Military Trail and north of Ellesmere Road, a short walk from the Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Fieldhouse venue. The first day of Pan Am service on this revised route will be Thursday, July 9, and the last day will be Saturday, July 25.
    The first day of Parapan Am service on this route will be Saturday, August 8 and the last day will be to Friday, August 14.

  • East/North from Kennedy Stn to Aquatics Centre Loop: From Kennedy Station, east on Eglinton Avenue, east on Kingston Road, north on Morningside Avenue, east on Ellesmere Avenue, west/north on Military Trail to Aquatics Centre Loop.
  • South/West from Aquatics Centre Loop to Kennedy Stn: From Aquatics Centre Loop, south/east on Military Trail, west on Ellesmere Avenue, south on Morningside Avenue, west on Kingston Road, west on Eglinton Avenue to Kennedy Station.

Stop details

  • Eastbound: Buses will serve all regular 198 stops to and including Morningside and Ellesmere, and will then serve the Aquatics Centre Loop. Eastbound buses will not serve Ellesmere and Military Trail or U of T Scarborough Loop.
  • Westbound: Buses will serve the Aquatics Centre Loop, Ellesmere and Military Trail (westbound farside), then all regular 198 stops from and including Morningside and Kingston Road. Westbound buses will not serve the U of T Scarborough Loop, Military Trail and Ellesmere (north side), or Morningside and Ellesmere.

406 VENUE SHUTTLE DOWNTOWN

  • Pan Am/Parapan Am Games service
    This temporary accessible bus route will operate between St George Station, Queens Park Station, and the Ryerson Athletic Centre (Mattamy Centre) at the former Maple Leaf Gardens, serving the Pan Am/Parapan Am Fields and Pan Am Basketball venues along the way. The first day of Pan Am service on this route will be Monday, July 13, and the last day will be Saturday, July 25. The first day of Parapan Am service on this route will be Saturday, August 8, and the last day will be Saturday, August 15. Buses will operate every 15 minutes.

East/south: From St George Station (26 DUPONT bus bay), south on Bedford Road, west on Bloor Street, south on St George Street, east on College Street, north on Yonge Street, east on Wood Street, south on Church Street.

  • West/north: From Church Street and Wood Street, south on Church Street, west on Carlton Street, west on College Street, north on St George Street, east on Bloor Street, north on Bedford Road, west on Prince Arthur Avenue to St George Station (26 DUPONT bus bay).
