September Board Period Service Changes


Starting on Sunday, September 5, the TTC will be making the following service adjustments:

Major Service Changes

Service adjustments will be made on many routes in response to changed ridership since the start of pandemic and ongoing provincial reopening plans. Routes with higher or increasing utilization will have service levels improved. This will apply the new guidelines for planning crowding approved in the 2021 Annual Service Plan.

Service Changes – Subway

1 Yonge-University

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Service will be increased on Line 1 in anticipation of ridership returning to the transit system. On Monday-Friday, service on Line 1 will be improved in every period. Daytime service will change to every three minutes 30 seconds. Early evening service will change to every three minutes 30 seconds. Late evening service will change to every five minutes.

2 Bloor-Danforth

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Service will be increased on Line 2 in anticipation of ridership returning to the transit system. On Monday-Friday, service on Line 2 will be improved in every period. Daytime service will change to every three minutes 45 seconds. Evening service will change to every six minutes.

Service Changes – Bus

School Trips

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

In preparation for an increase in service and ridership in September, all previously scheduled school trips will be reinstated to serve local high schools. Stay tuned and visit ttc.ca for more Back-to-School information.

7 Bathurst

> Service increase

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Service levels on 7 Bathurst will be improved due to expected ridership increases. Service will be improved to every eight-to-nine minutes in most periods.

14 Glencairn/28 Bayview South

>TTC Construction – Davisville Station remedial work

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

The bus terminal at Davisville Station will be partially closed for six weeks to accommodate remedial construction work for the driveway project completed in 2019. The 14 Glencairn and 28 Bayview South will serve Davisville Station from stops on street for the duration of the project, as buses on both routes will not enter the station.

15 Evans

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

With the completion of the remedial work at the Royal York Station bus terminal, 15 Evans will return to the bus terminal.

29 Dufferin/929 Dufferin Express

> New periods of express service – 929 Dufferin Express

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 11, 2021

As part of the Annual Service Plan 2021, new periods of service will be introduced on 929 Dufferin Express on Saturday morning and afternoon. Service will operate every eight-to-nine minutes. With the introduction of new periods of express service on 929 Dufferin Express, service levels on 29 Dufferin will be reduced on Saturdays in the morning and afternoon periods. Overall, service levels on the Dufferin corridor will be improved.

38 Highland Creek/938 Highland Creek Express

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

With the start of the 2021 school year, the 38B (Scarborough Centre Stn-UTSC) branch will return to service during the midday and afternoon peak period. Additionally, the 38B will be introduced in the morning peak period to provide additional capacity to University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. As part of the 2021 Annual Service Plan, new express service between Scarborough Centre Station and University of Toronto Scarborough Campus will be introduced in the peak periods. In the morning peak period, the 938 Highland Creek Express will operate in the eastbound direction only, towards University of Toronto. In the afternoon peak period, the 938 Highland Creek Express will operate in the westbound direction only, towards Scarborough Centre Station. The 38B (Scarborough Centre Stn-UTSC) branch will operate in the opposite directions to the 938 Highland Creek Express during the peak periods.

39 Finch East

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. Service levels will remain unchanged throughout the day.

41 Keele/941 Keele Express

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

New weekday midday express service will be introduced to the Keele corridor as part of the 2021 Annual Service Plan. Vehicle types on the Keele corridor will be rebalanced. On 41 Keele, regular-sized buses will be deployed and service levels will be increased in all periods to account for lower vehicle capacity. On 941 Keele Express, articulated buses will be deployed and service levels will be reduced in the peak periods to account for greater vehicle capacity.

47 Lansdowne

Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. Service will be increased in the morning and afternoon peak periods on weekdays to meet expected ridership demand on the route.

48 Rathburn

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

With the completion of the remedial work at the Royal York Station bus terminal, 48 Rathburn will return to the bus terminal.

52 Lawrence West

> Service increase

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Due to demand exceeding regular service levels, service on 52 Lawrence West will be supplemented with more vehicles, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. to provide additional service to the Lawrence West corridor. Additional service will operate on the 52A (Lawrence Stn-Pearson Airport) and 52G (Lawrence Stn-Royal York) branches.

54 Lawrence East

Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. Service will be increased in the afternoon peak period on weekdays to meet expected ridership demand on the route.

60 Steeles West/960 Steeles West Express

> New periods of express service – 960 Steeles West Express

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

As part of the Annual Service Plan 2021, new periods of service will be introduced on 960 Steeles West Express on weekday midday and early evening periods. 960 Steeles West Express will be extended to Highway 27 during the daytime, and Martin Grove Road in the early evening period, replacing the 60B (Finch Stn-Martin Grove) and 60D (Finch Stn-Hwy 27) branches on 60 Steeles West. This change will provide a faster trip for customers travelling from west of Pioneer Village Station to Finch Station, and reduce transfers for Steeles West customers. The route west of Pioneer Village Station will serve all local stops.

With the introduction of new periods of express service on 960 Steeles West Express, the 60D (Finch Stn-Highway 27) and 60B (Finch Stn-Martin Grove) branches will be replaced by new express Monday-Friday in the morning peak, midday, afternoon peak and early evening periods. Overall, service levels on the Steeles West corridor will be improved.

63 Ossington

Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. Service will be increased in the daytime periods from Monday to Friday to meet expected ridership demand on the route.

73 Royal York

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

With the completion of the remedial work at the Royal York Station bus terminal, 73 Royal York will return to the bus terminal.

75 Sherbourne

> Service increase

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Service in the morning peak and midday periods will be increased to accommodate the expected increase in demand to George Brown College. Morning peak service will operate until 11 a.m., improving to every five-to-six minutes. The midday period will start at 11 a.m., and service will improve to every seven-to-eight minutes.

76 Royal York South

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

With the completion of the remedial work at the Royal York Station bus terminal, 76 Royal York South will return to the bus terminal. Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. Weekend service levels will be improved in the daytime periods.

92 Woodbine South

> Seasonal service reduction

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 11, 2021

Service will be reduced on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, with the expected reduction of ridership to and from the lake shore. The last day of increased seasonal service will be Labour Day, September 6, 2021.

94 Wellesley

> City construction – road reconstruction

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

City construction will divert buses between Sherbourne Street and Ontario Street for approximately six weeks. Eastbound service towards Castle Frank Station will be diverted via Sherbourne Street and Bloor Street. Customers on Wellesley Street east of Sherbourne Street should walk to Sherbourne Street to board the 94 Wellesley or to Parliament Street to board 65 Parliament to reach Castle Frank Station. Service levels will be increased on Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday to accommodate expected ridership increase.

96 Wilson

99 Arrow Rd

102 Markham Rd

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

The 102A (Warden Stn-Progress) branch will be restored in the morning peak, midday and afternoon peak periods to provide additional service to Centennial College-Progress Campus. Service will operate every 20-to-24 minutes during these periods. Additional service on 102B (Warden Stn-Steeles) will continue to operate to serve essential employment areas north of Sheppard Avenue. Service in the late evening will be reduced slightly on 102B (Warden Stn-Steeles), to every 10 minutes.

106 Driftwood

Service levels will be increased on Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday to accommodate expected ridership increase.

107 York University Heights

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

During peak periods, two new branches of 107 York University Heights (107C, 107D) will serve Supertest Road, Flint Road and Martin Ross Avenue to provide direct connection to the essential employment uses adjacent Alness Street. Service to this area was removed in May 2021 as part of the Annual Service Plan change. Additionally, service levels will be improved in the peak periods to better match capacity to demand.

124 Sunnybrook

129 McCowan North

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Service levels will be increased on Monday-Friday and Saturday to accommodate expected ridership increase.

134 Progress/913 Progress Express

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Service in the morning and afternoon peak periods will be increased to accommodate the expected increase in demand to Centennial College – Progress Campus. One articulated bus will be scheduled in the morning peak period on 134C/913.

315 Evans

> TTC construction end – Royal York Station Easier Access

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

With the completion of the remedial work at the Royal York Station bus terminal, 315 Evans will no longer be extended to Islington Station, and will instead terminate at Royal York Station.

400 Lawrence Manor

> Route extension – 2020 Annual Service Plan

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Service will be extended into Lawrence Heights via Blossomfield Drive, Flemington Road and Varna Drive. Service will be reduced to Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and will operate from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the service level will change from to every 90 minutes.

402 Parkdale

> Route change – 2020 Annual Service Plan

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Service will be changed to operate into Dundas West Station via Dundas Street West and Bloor Street West, and will be removed from Wallace Avenue and Lansdowne Avenue north of Dundas Street West. Service will be reduced to Tuesdays and Fridays, and will operate from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the headway will be improved to every 60 minutes. One vehicle will be added to the service.

404 East York

> Route change – 2020 Annual Service Plan

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Service will be extended from Victoria Park Avenue and Gerrard Street East (FreshCo) south to Kingston Road, and will be eliminated between west of Victoria Park Avenue and Gerrard Street East and Queen Street East. Service levels will remain the same.

405 Etobicoke

> Route extension – 2020 Annual Service Plan

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Service will be extended to Islington Avenue and Dixon Road and to the West Park Healthcare Centre. Service will operate Monday to Friday, from approximately 9:30am to 5:30pm, and the headway will be improved from every 90 minutes to every 75 minutes.

900 Airport Express

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Service levels will be increased on Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday to accommodate expected ridership increase.

902 Markham Rd Express

Customer impact: Minor

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance.

925 Don Mills Express

> Weekend service restoration

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Express service will return on Saturday and Sunday/holiday. Service will operate every nine-to-10 minutes during the morning and afternoon periods.

927 Highway 27 Express

> Service increase

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Service to Humber College North Campus will increase to meet expected ridership demand with the return of in-person learning. Service levels on 927C (Kipling Stn-Humber College via Attwell Express) will increase in the morning and afternoon peak periods. Six scheduled trips on 927A (Kipling Stn-Humber College Express) will return and will be scheduled at the following times: Northbound trips from Kipling Station at 9 a.m., 9:10 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 9:50 a.m., 10:10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

939 Finch Express

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Express service will return on Saturday and Sunday/holiday to accommodate expected ridership increase. Service will operate every six-to-eight minutes during the morning and afternoon periods, and every 10 minutes in the early evening.

944 Kipling South Express

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

944 Kipling South Express service will return Monday-Friday. Schedules will be the same as February 2020. Service will operate every seven-to-nine minutes during the daytime.

954 Lawrence East Express

Effective date: Sept. 5, 2021

Schedules on this route will be adjusted in the morning and afternoon peak periods to help improve on-time performance.

985 Sheppard East Express

Express service will return on Saturday and Sunday/holiday to accommodate expected ridership increase.

996 Wilson Express

505 Dundas

Schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance.

510 Spadina

> Service increase – weekday branch structure restoration

Customer impact: Major

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

In response to expected ridership increases, weekday service on the 510A (Spadina Station-Union Station) branch will be restored. Combined service on Spadina Avenue north of Queens Quay will operate every four-to-five minutes during the daytime and early evening, with service to Union Station operating every eight-to-20 minutes.

512 St Clair

Customer impact: Moderate

Effective date: Sept. 7, 2021

In response to expected ridership increases, service levels during the weekday daytime and early evening periods will be improved. Service will operate every five minutes in the daytime, and every seven-to-eight minutes in the early evening.
