February Board Period Service Changes


Starting on Sunday, February 13, the TTC will be making the following service adjustments to restore the temporary reductions made in November 2021 on the following routes:

50 Burnhamthorpe
56 Leaside
57 Midland
61 Avenue Rd North

Introducing new schedules for the following routes to improve service reliability:

8 Broadview
22 Coxwell
45 Kipling
50 Burnhamthorpe
501L/H Queen (Bus)

Service will be increased on the following routes:

Construction projects continuing

• Rosedale Station Easier Access construction, until Q1 2025 – closure of bus platform #2 (began Jan. 5).

• Wilson Station Lower construction, until December 2022 – 29 Dufferin, 104 Faywood, 160 Bathurst North and 929 Dufferin Express divert to temporary bus terminal.

• TTC and City construction at King-Queen-Queensway Roncesvalles until fall 2022.

• City road construction on Wellington Street, until mid-2022.

• City water main and bridge construction on Cummer Avenue between Bayview and Leslie, until August 2022 – 42 Cummer diverted in the westbound direction.

• TTC Donlands Station Easier Access construction, until late 2022 – 56 Leaside and 83 Jones divert.

Construction projects ending

• TTC overhead upgrades along the 501 Queen corridor, east of Bathurst Street – streetcar service will be partially restored along the 501 Queen corridor.

• City sewer rehabilitation work on Coxwell Avenue – 505 Dundas shortened to Broadview Avenue, 506 Carlton returns to regular routing.

501/301 Queen
• Routing change – Construction ending

Effective date: February 13, 2022
Streetcar service on 501 Queen will resume on Queen Street East and West as far west as Bathurst Street. The previous detour via Parliament Street, King Street East, King Street West and Bathurst Street is no longer required because the track and overhead wire upgrades along Queen Street East and Queen Street West are complete. Customers who travel on the 501L (Long Branch-Broadview) and 501H (Humber-Broadview) replacement buses will see a minor increase in service. These changes will be implemented seven days a week, in all time periods.

505 Dundas
• Routing change – Construction ending
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: February 13, 2022
The 505 Dundas streetcar will be shortened to loop via Parliament Street, Gerard Street East and Broadview Avenue as sewer work on Coxwell Avenue has ended. Streetcars will no longer operate via Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East to Kingston Road. This will be the same service that was in place before the temporary extension went into effect in November 2021.

506/306 Carlton
• Routing change – Construction ending
Customer impact: None
Effective date: February 13, 2022
The 506/306 Carlton streetcar will resume service to Main Street Station as the sewer work on Coxwell Avenue has ended. The 506C Carlton replacement bus service between Castle Frank and Main Street stations will no longer be provided.

Rosedale Station bus platform construction

Budgetary impact: None
Effective date: January 5, 2022
As a result of the Easier Access construction at Rosedale Station, customers will be required to board and exit the 82 Rosedale buses at a temporary stop on the bus platform. During this work, there will be no access between the bus platform and the station’s main entrance/concourse. Customers will need to use the southbound subway platform to connect between the station entrance/concourse and the bus platform. Customers with mobility issues should use the new temporary accessible stops located on Crescent Road, directly in front of the station’s main entrance. Schedules for this route will remain the same. Construction is expected to last until early 2025.

8 Broadview
• Schedule change – service reliability
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Schedules for all time periods throughout the week will be adjusted to improve service reliability. Service will remain the same in most time periods, except on Saturday and Sunday between approximately 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. During this period, buses will arrive every 30 minutes.

9 Bellamy

Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service will be improved during the morning and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, to match customer travel. Between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., buses will arrive every 17 minutes. Between approximately 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 16 minutes. Service will be reduced between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. from Monday to Friday to reallocate resources to busier times of travel on this route. During this period, buses will arrive every 23 minutes.

12 Kingston Rd

Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service on the 12A (Victoria Park Stn-Kennedy Stn via Variety Village and Brimley) and 12C (Victoria Park Stn-St Clair) branches will be improved during the morning peak, afternoon peak and early evening periods, from Monday to Friday. Between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., buses will arrive every 16 minutes. Between approximately 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 20 minutes. Between approximately 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., buses will arrive every 20 minutes. Service will also be improved on the 12D (Victoria Park Stn-U of T Scarborough) branch during the afternoon peak, from Monday to Friday. Between approximately 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 24 minutes. As a result of these changes, combined service on the common portion of the route will be improved. Between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., buses will arrive every six minutes. Between approximately 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every seven minutes. Between approximately 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., buses will arrive every 10 minutes.

Service on the 12A (Victoria Park Stn-Kennedy Stn via Variety Village and Brimley) and 12B (Victoria Park Stn-Kennedy Stn via Brimley) branches will be improved throughout the morning on Saturday. Between approximately 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., buses will arrive every 30 minutes. Combined service on the common portion of the route will be improved so that buses arrive every 15 minutes.

Service on the 12A (Victoria Park Stn-Kennedy Stn via Variety Village and Brimley) and 12B (Victoria Park Stn-Kennedy Stn via Brimley) branches will be improved throughout the day on Sunday. Between approximately 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 30 minutes. Combined service frequencies on the common portion of the route will be improved so that buses arrive every 15 minutes.

These improvements will be implemented to match customer travel.

20 Cliffside
• Service increase
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service will be improved between approximately 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday to match customer travel. During this period, buses will arrive every 12-to-15 minutes. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

22 Coxwell
• Schedule change – service reliability
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Schedules for all time periods throughout the week will be adjusted to improve service reliability. As a result of this change, buses will arrive less frequently in some time periods, although existing 10-minutes-or-better service will still be provided during all time periods on both weekdays and weekends.

42 Cummer

Effective date: February 14, 2022
Service on the 42C (Finch Stn-Victoria Park) branch will be restored to match customer travel. As a result of these changes, combined service will be improved during the morning and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday. Between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., buses will arrive every seven minutes. Between approximately 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every eight minutes. Westbound service on this route will continue to be diverted via Leslie Street, Finch Avenue East and Bayview Avenue due to City construction work.

45 Kipling

Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Schedules for all time periods from Monday to Friday will be adjusted to improve service reliability. Combined service on the 45A (Kipling Stn-Steeles) and 45B (Kipling Stn-Carlingview via Belfield) branches will be improved throughout the day from Monday to Friday to match customer travel. Between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., buses will arrive every 10 minutes. Between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., buses will arrive every eight minutes.

50 Burnhamthorpe
• Schedule change – service reliability
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Schedules for all time periods throughout the week will be adjusted to improve service reliability. As a result of this change, buses will operate more frequently in most time periods. Buses will arrive every 12-to-20 minutes between approximately 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Buses will arrive every 15-to-20 minutes between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. Buses will arrive every 17-to-18 minutes between approximately 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

56 Leaside

Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: February 13, 2022
All school trips on this route will be restored (serving Leaside High School) to match customer travel. These trips have been scheduled to align with bell times in both the morning and afternoon.

57 Midland
• Service increase
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service will be improved in most time periods from Monday to Friday to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every eight-to-nine minutes between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Buses will arrive every nine-to-10 minutes between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Buses will arrive every 13 minutes between approximately 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Buses will arrive every 16 minutes between approximately 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Service improvements will also be implemented on Saturdays between approximately 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on Sundays between approximately 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. During these time periods, service will be improved by approximately one-to-three minutes. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

61 Avenue Rd North

Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service will be improved throughout the day from Monday to Friday to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every 14 minutes between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Buses will arrive every 20 minutes between approximately 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

76 Royal York South

Effective date: February 13, 2022
All school trips on this route (serving Etobicoke School of the Arts and Bishop Allen Academy) will be restored to match customer travel. These trips have been scheduled to align with bell times in both the morning and afternoon.

78 St Andrews
• Service increase

Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service will be improved between approximately 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between approximately 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., from Monday to Friday, to match customer travel. During these periods, buses will arrive every 15 minutes. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

161 Rogers Rd

• Service reduction – Weekend
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service will be improved in all time periods, from Monday to Friday, to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every 12 minutes between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Buses will arrive every 17-to-18 minutes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Buses will arrive every 13 minutes between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Buses will arrive every 17 minutes between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Buses will arrive every 20 minutes between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. On Saturday, service will be reduced during the daytime to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every 16 minutes between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Buses will arrive every 19 minutes between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. On Sunday, service will be reduced during the afternoon to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every 19 minutes from approximately 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

168 Symington

• Service reduction – Weekend
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Service from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from to 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., from Monday to Friday, will be improved by approximately four-to-six minutes to match customer travel. Additional improvements between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. will see buses arriving every 11 minutes and between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. buses will arrive every 17 minutes. On Saturday, service will be reduced during all time periods to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Buses will arrive every 11 minutes between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Buses will arrive every 10 minutes between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. Buses will arrive every 13 minutes between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Buses will arrive every 17 minutes between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. On Sunday, service will be reduced during most periods except the early morning and early evening to match customer travel. Buses will arrive every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Buses will arrive every 13 minutes between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Buses will arrive every 11 minutes between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. Buses will arrive every 11 minutes between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Buses will arrive every 17 minutes between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

925 Don Mills Express

Effective date: February 13, 2022
On Saturday and Sunday, service will be reintroduced from approximately 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to match customer travel along the Don Mills corridor. On Saturday, buses will arrive every nine-to-10 minutes. On Sunday, buses will arrive every 10 minutes. This will be the same service that was in place before temporary service reductions were made in November 2021.

300 Bloor-Danforth
• Service increase – Additional trips
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: February 13, 2022
Additional trips will be added in the early morning to match customer travel. Five trips will be added from Monday to Friday, departing from 4:15 a.m. to 5:40 a.m. Three trips will be added on Saturday, departing from 4:31 a.m. to 5:01 a.m. 20 trips will be added on Sunday, departing from 4:25 a.m. to 7:40 a.m.

Holiday Service

Family Day – Monday, February 21, 2022. Holiday service levels will operate.
