TTC mourns the loss of Road Master Peter Pavlovski

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of a TTC employee who died this morning following a tragic workplace incident just north of our Yorkdale Station.

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of a TTC employee who died this morning following a tragic workplace incident just north of our Yorkdale Station.

Peter Pavlovski has been a member of the TTC family since 1990. We are all in terrible shock, but we will, of course, be providing any and all assistance and support to Peter’s family and co-workers during this very difficult time.

A co-worker of Peter’s was also injured and is in hospital. At this time, it is believed that his injuries, while serious, are non-life-threatening.

Safety at the TTC is always job number-one. We will leave no stone unturned in understanding what happened and will, of course, work closely with the Ministry of Labour as this tragedy is investigated.

I want to thank all of the employees involved on the scene, at Transit Control and throughout the system today who have assisted customers. Your professionalism has been evident throughout. I will ensure each and every one of you is kept up-to-date as the investigation into this tragic loss continues.

The TTC is a very close-knit family. I know that many of you will feel a sense of loss and bewilderment that this could happen on our system. We will all pull together to get through this and we will never forget our colleague, Peter.
