Susan Reed Tanaka appointed Chief Capital Officer

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Reed Tanaka to the position of Chief Capital Officer of the Engineering, Construction and Expansion Group. Susan had been acting Chief Capital Officer since March.

As the owner of the TTC capital portfolio, Susan is responsible for developing, improving and expanding the TTC network.

Susan joined the TTC in 1990 and brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to this role, and to the TTC Executive Team, which I am proud to say continues to increasingly reflect the diversity of the city and TTC, as it should.

Susan is a licenced architect and had been Head of Engineering since 2006. Prior to that, she served as Construction Manager in charge of construction services.

Susan has been involved in various technical committees, including NFPA 130 and the AODA Standards Development Committee for the Built Environment. In 2004, she was appointed by an Order in Council of the Provincial Government to the Building Materials Evaluation Commission.

As Chief Capital Officer, Susan is responsible for Capital Programming; Construction; Engineering; Property, Planning and Development; Scarborough Subway Extension; and the Yonge Subway Extension/Relief Line.
