Organization Notice Service Delivery Group to assume responsibility for bus, streetcar and non-revenue fleet maintenance

As we approach the opening of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension next year, and with a number of critical subway-related projects to deliver, such as the rollout of automatic train control, it is time to allow the Operations Group to focus exclusively on the subway.

Dear Colleagues,

As we approach the opening of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension next year, and with a number of critical subway-related projects to deliver, such as the rollout of automatic train control, it is time to allow the Operations Group to focus exclusively on the subway.

To accomplish this, Chief Service Officer Rick Leary will now be accountable for end-to-end bus and streetcar service delivery, including maintenance of vehicles, streetcar way and overhead.

With these objectives in mind, effective Monday, August 15, 2016, bus maintenance, (including garages), streetcar maintenance (including carhouses) and non-revenue fleet maintenance, will transfer from the Operations Group to the Service Delivery Group.

To assist Rick in his expanded role, Kirsten Watson, currently Head of Bus Transportation, will be appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Service Officer, as well as assume a position on the TTC Executive Management Team.

Please join me in congratulating Rick and Kirsten on their expanded roles.

Andy Byford
Chief Executive Officer
