Corporate Services Update
Dear Colleagues,
As you know, Vince Rodo is retiring later this year after 34 years of distinguished service. His wise counsel, vast institutional knowledge and valued friendship will be greatly missed – not just by me and many of you, but by the TTC as a whole.
No one will ever replace Vince, of course, but we have begun the search for his successor and I wanted to share with you some changes we are making to the Corporate Services Group’s structure in order to ensure the group’s focus is laser-like on their core function of Finance, IT, Materials and Procurement and the Pension Fund.
Effective June 1, Brian Leck and the Legal Department will report to me directly; Valerie Albanese and Human Rights will report to Chief People Officer, Gemma Piemontese; and Kevin Lee and Commission Services will report directly to Chief of Staff, Joan Taylor.
This change in reporting relationships will allow the new Chief Financial Officer, once hired, to focus their energies on the always-challenging budget – and 2018 promises to be the most challenging yet – and projects like SAP, which have a massive impact across the organization.
The work that our colleagues do in Legal, Human Rights and Commission Services is vital to the TTC’s success as a progressive, public employer. Changing those reporting relationships, I believe, ensures that their vital work continues to get the attention it deserves, allowing the new CFO to hit the ground running.
Thank you for your continued professionalism and dedication to the TTC.
Andy Byford
Chief Executive Officer
