Organizational Update: Audit, Risk and Compliance Group

It is my pleasure to announce that we are integrating the Internal Audit Department and the Risk Management Office to form one Audit, Risk and Compliance group.

This newly formed department will support a stronger alignment between audit, risk management and compliance work. The group will also include the addition of Marg Verbeek, who will lead our Organizational Resiliency Program, a program that will enhance the TTC’s overall readiness and ability to mitigate disruption risks. Marg is a highly experienced, senior-level emergency manager and business continuity professional with over 30 years of progressive experience. Marg has demonstrated visionary leadership to enable the development and implementation of comprehensive best practice emergency management and business continuity programs that foster a positive and results-oriented culture, enabling organizations to be more resilient.

With a combined expertise and focus to improve the TTC’s risk management practices, business processes and internal controls, this newly aligned group will strengthen the TTC’s Governance/Risk/Control framework and better position the TTC to be more resilient.
