National Day of Mourning

Today, April 28, is the National Day of Mourning – a time to commemorate those across Canada who were killed or seriously injured on the job.

As a solemn tribute to those in our workforce who have died or suffered a serious injury or illness, the flags at the TTC have been lowered to half-mast. Whether you are at work or working remotely, we ask that you take a moment today to honour those co-workers, and extend your thoughts to the families who bear the pain of these tragedies.

During this time, it is important that we also check in on our mental health and wellness. The TTC offers several health and wellness and peer supports if you need them. The Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) by LifeWorks provides confidential counselling services and self-guided resources for employees and family members, 24 hours a day. To get in touch with EFAP please call 1-800-572-0039 or access these supports on the MyEAP App or online at https://www.workhealthlife.com/.

Take care and stay safe.
