Message from the Executives

Office of the Chief Executive

Thank you for everything you do

Tomorrow, March 18, is Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day. It’s a day to celebrate each and every one of you for the wonderful work you do. Your work connects communities and is vital to keeping Toronto moving. In fact, you make such an impact in this city, Mayor John Tory has proclaimed March 18 as Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day in Toronto.

Tomorrow, there will be local celebrations across the commission. TTC employees working on site will receive special giveaways – a button for Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day to wear proudly, as well as a voucher for a free medium coffee, thanks to our friends at McDonald’s. If you’re currently working from home, you’ll find these items ready for you when you return to the office in April.

Today is also your last chance to enter our Share your Appreciation contest by submitting a shout out to a co-worker. There are now over 300 prizes up for grabs, including a day off! I’ve really enjoyed reading the messages of gratitude being shared so far – we’ve received over 800 submissions. You can find some shout outs in this week’s newsletter and on TVs, and more will be shared in the coming weeks.

Again, I want to say a heartfelt thank you for everything you do. Whether you’re on the frontlines, at a TTC location or working from home, your contributions and dedication make a difference. Thank you.
