Canada 150 Celebrations: Keeping TTC customers and employees safe
From the Transit Enforcement Unit
Over the next few weeks millions of people across the country will be celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary. In Toronto, tens of thousands of customers will rely on the TTC to get them to and from these events safely.
Although there is no specific threat to the TTC at this time, employees are reminded to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour, activities or items to Transit Control. Remember, if you see something, say something. Safety and security of our customers and employees are paramount at all times.
If you see something, say something.
In the days ahead, and throughout the Canada 150 celebrations, there will be increased numbers of Transit Enforcement Officers throughout the system, and the TTC and TEU will remain in close contact with Toronto Police Service and the intelligence agencies in Canada to monitor and assess any new information.
Canada 150 is a wonderful chance for the country and our city to shine. We want the TTC to be a safe and welcoming way for people to get around during the celebrations.
We will continue to update employees as necessary and encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact the Transit Enforcement Unit, Sergeant Jay Lawrence, at 416-393-2945 or e-mail jay.lawrence@ttc.ca.
