​UNDERGROUND FREEDOM TRAIN RIDE/EMANCIPATION DAY
​The TTC is proud to support and participate in the annual underground freedom train ride to celebrate Emancipation Day on August 1.
​Time: 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.
​Location: Line 1 Yonge-University, Vaughan Metropolitan Centre to Union stations.
​The midnight train ride in the TTC subway, hosted by the Blackhurst Cultural Centre, welcomes Emancipation Day on August 1 and marks the role of the Underground Railroad in Canadian history. Celebrations include music, singing, drum playing, and moments of reflection. The symbolic event is open to the public. Boarding starts at 11:40 p.m. with arrival at Union at approximately 12:30 a.m.
