Robert James “Bob” Thacker
Robert Thacker, retired General Superintendent of Bus Transportation, died on January 11, 2026 at age 78. Mr. Thacker started at the TTC in 1973 as a management trainee in the Personnel Department. In 1981, he moved to the Equipment Department as Assistant Manager of Administration. He was promoted to Manager of Employee Relations six years later. In 1996, Mr. Thacker was appointed General Superintendent of Wheel-Trans, and in 2008, he was promoted to Bus Transportation General Superintendent, responsible for all operating divisions.
