The TTC is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Laurin to the position of Head of Engineering Department. The appointment was effective on March 7, 2016.

Laurin joined the Engineering Department in 1999 as Superintendent – Geotechnical Engineering after 12 years of engineering consulting in the private sector. He has held progressively responsible leadership positions in Engineering, including, Head – Civil and Geotechnical Design and Director – Engineering Design. Laurin was Acting Head prior to his latest promotion.

Laurin is a registered Professional Engineer in both Ontario and Quebec, a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a member of the NFPA-130 Technical Committee, which is the North American Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems.

As Head of Engineering, Laurin is responsible for the TTC’s design standards, design and technical support for new and renovated transit facilities and infrastructure, and technical review of third-party developments, including Metrolinx projects. He is responsible for the following areas: Engineering Design, Technical Support and LRT Transportation and Operations.
