Stephen Lam

The TTC is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Lam to the position of Head of Streetcar Department. The appointment was effective on Sept. 28, 2014.

Lam began his TTC career in 1981 when he joined the Equipment Department as a Junior Engineer to commission the CLRVs. Lam was promoted through the engineering ranks to become Superintendent of Vehicle Engineering in 1989.

In 2009, Lam headed up the low-floor streetcar and Toronto Rocket engineering and procurement activities (including the initial phase of the Metrolinx LRV project) as Chief Vehicle Engineer. He held this position until his latest appointment.

As Head of Streetcar, Lam is responsible for the following areas: construction and maintenance of the overhead system, the surface track network, and streetcar maintenance, overhaul and procurement.
