September Board Period Service Changes
Starting Sunday, September 4, the TTC will be making the following service changes to increase frequency, improve reliability, reintroduce seasonal service on various routes and/or match capacity to demand. Service will be adjusted on the following routes:
Service Change Highlights
Service increases – service will be increased on bus, streetcar, and subway routes compared to summer service levels. In this board period, bus, streetcar and subway will operate at 97%, 84% and 92% of budgeted levels of service investment, respectively.
Service will improve on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. During peak periods, service will operate every three minutes or better on both lines.
Compared to the May 2022 Board Period, the following routes have increased service investment, either through additional resources to improve on-time performance or to provide additional periods of service, new service, or better frequency of buses and streetcars:

• 141 Downtown/Mt Pleasant Express – alternative service via 74 Mt Pleasant to Line 1.
• 142 Downtown/Avenue Rd Express – alternative service via 13 Avenue Rd to downtown or 61 Avenue Rd North to Line 1.
• 143 Downtown/Beach Express – alternative service via 501 Queen.
• 144 Downtown/Don Valley Express – alternative service via buses to Line 1 and Line 2.
• 145 Downtown/Humber Bay Express – alternative service via 501 Queen or 176 Mimico GO to GO Lakeshore West trains.
• 508 Lake Shore remains suspended pending the completion of streetcar infrastructure projects on Queen Street and King Street.
Ridership and service will continue to be monitored through fall 2022 and service adjustments made based on TTC Service Standards and other strategic initiatives, such as the Annual Service Plan.
Service reliability improvements – the program for continuous monitoring and improvement to schedules to better match observed operating conditions will result in new schedules for the following routes:

New services
• 65 Parliament/365 Parliament – as part of the implementation of the 2022 Annual Service Plan, service on this route will change, extending it to Queens Quay. This provides new connections from Line 2 to East Bayfront and George Brown College Waterfront Campus.
Seasonal reductions and changes
• 30 High Park – 30B (High Park Stn-High Park) seasonal service will end after Labour Day.
• 86 Scarborough – seasonal service to the Toronto Zoo will change to reflect non-summer operating hours.
• 92 Woodbine South – seasonal weekend service increases will end.
• 174 Ontario Place-Exhibition – seasonal service will end.
• 509 Harbourfront – seasonal service increases will end.

1 Yonge-University

Subway service on Line 1 Yonge-University will be increased in the morning and afternoon peak periods, Monday to Friday, with the expected increase in ridership on Line 1. A minor service reduction will occur in the midday period.
2 Bloor-Danforth

Subway service on Line 2 Bloor Danforth will be increased Monday to Friday with the expected increase of ridership on Line 2.

501/301 Queen

501 Queen streetcar service will be extended further west of Bathurst Street to Dufferin Street, terminating at Dufferin Gate Loop. Streetcar service west of Dufferin Street will continue to be replaced by buses as construction at King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles continues. 501L (Long Branch-University) replacement buses will be shortened to end at Dufferin Street, looping via Gladstone Avenue, Peel Avenue and Dufferin Street. 501H (Humber-University) replacement buses will be removed. 301 Queen overnight service will continue to operate with buses.
503 Kingston Rd
• Diversion ends – King/Sumach track work
• Diversion begins – Adelaide/Charlotte track work

503 Kingston Road streetcar service through the King Street East and Sumach Street intersection will be restored with the completion of track work and the reopening of the intersection. Streetcars will be extended to Bathurst Street as a result of track work beginning along Adelaide Street West, including at the intersection with Charlotte Street.
504/304 King

504 King streetcar service along King Street East between Parliament Street and Queen Street East and to Distillery Loop will be restored with the end of track work at the intersection of King Street East and Sumach Street. Streetcar service will be removed west of Bathurst Street due to the start of water main and track work at the intersection of King Street West and Shaw Street. Replacement buses will operate between Dundas West Station and York Street, diverting via Atlantic Avenue, Liberty Street and Strachan Avenue. Customers may board eastbound 504 King streetcars at Fleet Street and Strachan Avenue to travel to stops on King Street east of Bathurst Street. Effective September 1, 504C (Dundas West Station-York via Liberty Village) bus service will divert via Howard Park Avenue and Roncesvalles Avenue due to the closure of Roncesvalles Avenue, north of King Street. Customers at stops along Roncesvalles Avenue can access transit service at stops on Howard Park Avenue, Parkside Drive, The Queensway/Queen Street West or Lansdowne Avenue.
505 Dundas
• Service restoration – Dundas West Station overhead

505 Dundas streetcar service will be restored throughout the entirety of the route with the completion of overhead upgrades at Dundas West Station. Schedules will be the same as March 2021.
506/306 Carlton

506 Carlton streetcar service will be restored through the Carlton Street and Church Street intersection with the completion of track work. Streetcars will divert via Bay Street, Dundas Street West and Ossington Avenue as a result of track replacement and streetscape upgrades on College Street, between Bay Street and Bathurst Street. Work will progress in stages with rolling full street closures through the construction zone. Replacement buses will operate between Ossington Station and Castle Frank Station diverting around the closed sections of the road as required. 306 Carlton overnight service will continue to operate with buses diverting around the closed sections of roadway.
509 Harbourfront

Additional weekend service added on the 509 Harbourfront streetcar service for the summer season will be removed. Streetcars will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner except for Sundays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m when they will arrive every 15 minutes. Weekend schedules will be the same as March 2022 and weekday schedules will remain unchanged.
511 Bathurst

511 Bathurst streetcar service will be improved during weekday and weekend service periods, reversing seasonal reductions made in the June 2022 Board Period. Streetcars will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner.

512 St Clair streetcar service will be improved during weekday and weekend service periods, reversing seasonal reductions made in the June 2022 Board Period. Streetcars will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner except for Sundays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. when they will arrive every 11 minutes.
Service Changes – Bus
600-series Buses
• Restoration of buses for service resiliency
600-series buses will be restored to provide additional flexibility and service resiliency. A total of 14 weekday, 33 Saturday and 28 Sunday crews will be added to 600-series buses at all divisions. Additional 600-series buses will be scheduled at the divisional level as Operator availability allows.
School Trips
• Restoration of school trips
• Schedule adjustments to meet revised school times
Extra scheduled trips to accommodate school traffic will be restored. Some new trips will be added:
• A total of 112 school trips scheduled in the September 2022 Board Period.
• Four of these trips are new compared to the May 2022 Board Period based on a review of utilization of existing school trips, crowding on regular service trips and in response to customer complaints.
• 51 trips have modified times to align with start and dismissal times received from the school boards.
11 Bayview

The 11 Bayview school trip serving St. Joseph Morrow Park Catholic High School will be adjusted to depart from Steeles Loop (at Bayview Avenue) at 2:59 p.m. instead of 2:49 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The remaining school trips serving this school will depart at the same times as scheduled in May 2022.
12 Kingston Rd

The 12 Kingston Road school trips serving Neil McNeil Catholic High School will be adjusted to depart from the school at 2:50 p.m., 2:52 p.m., 2:57 p.m. and 3:02 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The school trip serving St. John Henry Newman Catholic High School will also be adjusted to depart from the school at 2:50 p.m. instead of 2:55 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The remaining school trip serving this school will depart at the same times as scheduled in May 2022.
15 Evans

The 15 Evans school trip serving the Etobicoke School of the Arts will be adjusted to depart from the school at 3:20 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The school trip serving Bishop Allen Academy will also be adjusted to depart from the school at 3:08 p.m. instead of 3:15 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The remaining school trips serving this school will depart at the same times as scheduled in May 2022.
24 Victoria Park

Service on the 24 Victoria Park will be improved on Sundays and holidays restoring temporary service reductions. Buses will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner. Schedules will be the same as January 2020 Board Period.
25 Don Mills

A new school trip to Pape Station will be added to serve Valley Park Middle School and Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute departing from Eglinton Avenue East at Don Mills Road at 3:15 p.m. The 25 Don Mills school trips serving Valley Park Middle School will be adjusted to depart from Overlea Boulevard at Don Mills Road at 3:00 p.m., 3:05 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The school trip serving George S. Henry Academy will also be adjusted to depart from Fenelon Loop at 2:55 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times.
26 Dupont

Effective date: September 4, 2022
Service on the 26 Dupont will be improved during certain time periods Monday to Friday, and Sundays and holidays, restoring temporary service reductions. Service reductions will occur in some other time periods to match service to customer demand. Schedules will be the same as the October 2021 Board Period. Saturday service will remain unchanged.

• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., buses will arrive every 24 minutes.
• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., buses will arrive every 30 minutes.
• 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 26 minutes.
• 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., buses will arrive every 30 minutes.
• 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., buses will arrive every 22 minutes.
Sundays:
• 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., buses will arrive every 23 minutes.
• 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., buses will arrive every 26 minutes.
• 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 30 minutes.
• 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., buses will arrive every 24 minutes.
29 Dufferin

Service on the 29 Dufferin to Princes’ Gate Loop will resume on both weekdays and weekends in all time periods with the end of seasonal closures at Exhibition Place. Routing and schedules will be the same as those operated in May 2022.
30 High Park

Effective date: September 9, 2022
Seasonal service on the 30B High Park (High Park Stn-High Park via West Rd) branch will end. Service on Sunday, September 4 will operate at the divisional level, with the last day of service on Labour Day, September 5 (holiday schedule). The inter line of 30A (High Park Stn-Runnymede) service with the 189 Stockyards will continue at all times, seven days a week.
32 Eglinton West
• Schedule change – Metrolinx construction ending
Customer Impact: Moderate
Effective date: September 4, 2022
Service will be reduced to reallocate resources to other system priorities. Buses will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner. The additional running time allocated in the July-August 2022 Board Period will end. Schedules will be the same as the May 2022 Board Period.
34 Eglinton East
• Schedule change – deadhead to revenue trips

Effective date: September 6, 2022
Service on the 34 Eglinton East will be improved through the addition of more westbound service between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. approximately, Monday to Friday, starting from Lebovic Avenue. 43 minutes of revenue time to Eglinton Station will be scheduled, up from the current 25 minutes of deadhead time.
35 Jane

Service on the 35B Jane (Pioneer Village Stn-Jane Stn via Hullmar) in the southbound direction will be removed from Peter Kaiser Gate and Steeles Avenue west of the Jane Street due to operational concerns. Southbound buses will instead access Hullmar Drive directly from Jane Street. Schedules and service levels will remain the same as those operated in August 2022. Service on the 35B Jane (Pioneer Village Stn-Jane Stn via Hullmar) in the northbound direction will remain unchanged.
38 Highland Creek/938 Highland Creek Express

Service on the 38B Highland Creek (Scarborough Centre Stn-UTSC) branch will return Monday to Friday during the midday and afternoon peak period. Additionally, the 38B Highland Creek will be introduced in the morning peak period to provide additional capacity to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. Express service between Scarborough Centre Station and University of Toronto Scarborough Campus will be introduced in the peak periods. In the morning peak period, the 938 Highland Creek Express will operate in the eastbound direction only towards the Scarborough Campus. In the afternoon peak period, the 938 Highland Creek Express will operate in the westbound direction only towards Scarborough Centre Station. The 38B (Scarborough Centre Stn-UTSC) branch will operate in the opposite directions to the 938 Highland Creek Express during the peak periods.
40 Junction-Dundas West/49 Bloor West
• Schedule change – TTC construction postponed

Effective date: September 4, 2022
TTC construction in the bus terminal at Kipling Station will be postponed until 2023. The schedule change that took effect in the July-August 2022 Board Period will be reversed and schedules will be the same as the May 2022 Board Period.
41 Keele

Service on the 41 Keele will be improved in the early evening period on Saturdays to match ridership demand. From: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., buses will arrive every 15 minutes.
42 Cummer

Effective date: September 4, 2022
Service on the 42 Cummer will return to its regular westbound routing following the end of City water main and bridge construction on Cummer Avenue between Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street. Schedules will be the same as February 202, with the removal of the extra westbound running time.
44 Kipling South

The running time and schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. Buses will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner. An additional school trip to Kipling Station departing from Colonel Samuel Smith Park Loop at 2:35 p.m. will also be added to provide additional service to Lakeshore Collegiate Institute.
45 Kipling

46 Martin Grove

Additional trips will operate to address increased customer demand between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and between 11:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m., Monday to Friday. Afternoon peak service will begin at 2:00 p.m., providing two additional trips northbound from Kipling Station between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Additional trips will be operated in the late evening, using two buses:
• A southbound trip, starting at Rexdale Drive and Martin Grove Road, at approximately 11:35 p.m., serving southbound at Vulcan Street at approximately 11:40 p.m., and turning back northbound via Redgrave Drive and Waterbury Drive. The northbound trip will serve Martin Grove Road and Vulcan Street at approximately 11:55 p.m.
• A northbound trip, starting at Kipling Station, at approximately 11:20 p.m., completing one round trip, serving Martin Grove Road and Vulcan Street at approximately 11:47 p.m. This will provide three new trips to address overcrowding at the change of shift times at Martin Grove Road and Vulcan Street – one southbound at 11:40 p.m., two northbound at 11:47 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.
School trips on this route will also be adjusted:
• The 46 Martin Grove school trips serving Father Henry Carr Catholic High School will be adjusted to depart from Martin Grove Road at Finch Avenue West at 2:56 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times.
• The 46 Martin Grove school trips serving Martingrove Collegiate Institute will also be adjusted to depart from Nottinghill Gate at Winterton Drive at 3:20 p.m. (to Steeles) and 3:25 p.m. (to Kipling Station) to better align service with dismissal times.
47 Lansdowne

Schedules for the 47 Lansdowne will be adjusted to improve service reliability. Buses will continue to arrive every 10 minutes or sooner. The running time and schedules on this route will be adjusted for all periods of the week to help improve on-time performance. The peak period tripper that was previously scheduled will continue to be suspended, subject to ridership monitoring in the fall.
48 Rathburn

The 48 Rathburn school trip serving Michael Power-Saint Joseph High School will be adjusted to depart from the school at 2:25 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. The school trip serving Silverthorn Collegiate Institute will also be adjusted to depart from Markland Road at Mill Road at 3:25 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times.
50 Burnhamthorpe

The 50 Burnhamthorpe school trip serving Silverthorn Collegiate Institute will be adjusted to depart from Markland Road at Mill Road at 3:25 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times.
51 Leslie

Service on the 51 Leslie will be improved during certain periods from Monday to Friday. Minor service reductions will occur in other time periods to match service to customer demand.

• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., buses will arrive every 23 minutes.
• 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 21 minutes.
• 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., buses will arrive every 25 minutes.
• 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., buses will arrive every 30 minutes.
Saturdays:
• 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., buses will arrive every 25 minutes.
• 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., buses will arrive every 25 minutes.
The 51 Leslie school trip serving Zion Heights Junior High School will be adjusted to depart from Leslie Street at Finch Avenue East at 3:10 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times. Schedules will be the same as those operated in October 2021, except for a change to the end-of-line location.
52 Lawrence West

Service on the 53B (Finch Stn-Markham Rd) branch will be adjusted to operate via Tapscott Road, Passmore Avenue and Morningside Avenue to better service employment centres in this area.
54 Lawrence East

Effective date: September 6, 2022
Schedules for the 54 Lawrence East will be adjusted on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to improve operations. Buses will continue to arrive at the same frequency. Midday service will be adjusted to balance recovery times on both branches of 54 Lawrence East.
56 Leaside

Effective date: September 6, 2022
An additional school trip to Eglinton Station departing from Donlands Station at 8:26 a.m. will be added to provide additional service to Leaside High School. The 56 Leaside school trip serving Leaside High School will be adjusted to depart from Eglinton Station at 8:45 a.m., 3:11 p.m., and 3:14 p.m. to better align with start and dismissal times. Another school trip also serving Leaside High School will also be adjusted to depart from Donlands Station at 8:21 a.m.
60 Steeles West

Service on the 60C Steeles West (Pioneer Village Stn-Kipling) branch during midday periods will be reallocated to the a.m. and p.m. peak periods to better match ridership demand and support increased ridership on the 960 Steeles West Express. Buses will continue to arrive every 10 minutes or sooner on Monday-Friday, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
65 Parliament/365 Parliament
• Annual Service Plan 2022 – Route Change

Effective date: September 4, 2022
Service on the 65 Parliament and 365 Parliament will be extended to Dockside Drive via Queens Quay East as part of the 2022 Annual Service Plan, providing service to the East Bayfront neighbourhood and the George Brown College Waterfront Campus. Service will be removed from The Esplanade and Princess Street. Buses will operate every 15 minutes or sooner on during the day Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Buses will operate every 30 minutes from 1:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. (8 a.m. Sundays).
66 Prince Edward

Service on the 66 Prince Edward will be improved in the early part of the afternoon peak period to better match customer demand. Buses will operate more frequently starting at 2 p.m. northbound from Humber Loop and Lake Shore/Park Lawn Road.
68 Warden

The 70 O’Connor school trip serving East York Collegiate Institute will be adjusted to depart from the school at 3:20 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. to better align service with dismissal times.
75 Sherbourne

Service on the 75 Sherbourne will be improved on Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the start of the new school year. Service levels will be slightly lower than previously operated in March 2022 as more capacity to George Brown College Waterfront Campus will be added through the extension of 65 Parliament. Buses will arrive every 10 minutes or sooner from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
84 Sheppard West

Service on the 86 Scarborough Zoo shuttle between the Toronto Zoo and Meadowvale Loop will end on weekdays, Sundays and holidays due to reduced operating hours at the Toronto Zoo.
