New Board holds its first meeting next week

Toronto City Council appointed five new Councillors to the TTC Board on November 24. They are: Jon Burnside, Ward 16 Don Valley East; Paul Ainslie, Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood; Stephen Holyday, Ward 2 Etobicoke Centre; Nick Mantas, Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt; and Chris Moise, Ward 13 Toronto Centre.

The five City Councillors were officially sworn in as TTC Commissioners following their appointment for a term ending December 31, 2024.

Council appointed Jon Burnside as the TTC’s new Chair. The five elected representatives will be joining the four current citizen Commissioners: Joanne De Laurentiis, Fenton Jagdeo, Ron Lalonde and Julie Osborne.

The first meeting of the new Commission (December 8) will be live-streamed on the Official TTC YouTube Channel, starting at 10 a.m.

Spread the holiday spirit with a donation
A quick reminder that the Recreation Council is leading a TTC-wide coat drive with Toronto Police 12 Division and the Learning Enrichment Foundation to help deliver new coats to those who need them most this winter. Drop-off locations are: Danforth, Mount Dennis, Queensway, Birchmount, Leslie Barns and Head Office.

The annual holiday Stuff-the-Bus toy drive continues this month. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, movie passes or gift cards will be accepted on the east and west ends of the city. See the posters below for more information.

The generosity of the TTC’s employees never ceases to impress – and this year has been no different.

Stay safe.
