Message from the Executives

Office of the Chief Executive

Season’s Greetings everyone.

I’d like to begin my final weekly message of 2022 by congratulating the TTC/United Way team, canvassers and everyone who donated their time to this year’s fundraiser.

Employees and pensioners raised more than $630,000 for the United Way Greater Toronto this year. Together, we all played an important role in raising much-needed funds for people who are most in need in our community through payroll deductions and special events.

Also with an abundance of kindness and generosity, we sent 500 cases of soup to the Veterans Association Food Bank, and 350 new coats to the Learning Enrichment Foundation to help community partners deliver them to make this winter season more comfortable for kids and youth.

The generosity of the TTC’s employees is always impressive – thank you everyone!

Free rides on New Year’s Eve
With the pandemic having postponed free New Year’s Eve service these past two years, our friends at Corby Spirit and Wine are back to sponsor free TTC rides this New Year’s Eve. The TTC will be free of charge starting at 7 p.m. on December 31 through to 8 a.m. New Year’s Day, January 1. We’re encouraging revellers to celebrate the holidays responsibly and leave the driving to us.

I’d like to extend a special thanks to everyone working through the holidays, especially on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, to ensure our customers get where they need to go, safely and quickly.

Wishing you and your loved ones the very best for the Holiday Season as well as a very happy, safe and healthy New Year!
