Message from the Executives
Office of the Chief Executive
To celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, the TTC hosted a Sunrise Ceremony at Hillcrest on June 21. I’m grateful to Elder Michael White who conducted the ceremony, Fire Keeper Sheldon Morriseau, Helper Denise McLeod and staff from across the TTC for organizing this special event. The Sunrise Ceremony is an opportunity to come together in offering prayers, giving thanks and setting intentions. Another Sunrise Ceremony will be held at our McNicoll property on June 30 to close off Indigenous Peoples Month.
I want to invite everyone to our Indigenous Peoples Month Showcase taking place at Hillcrest on Saturday, July 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The TTC is proudly celebrating and honouring Indigenous Peoples’ culture, creativity and successes through great food, music, and spoken word and dance performances.
