Message from the Executives

Office of the Chief Executive

This morning, we were thrilled to launch our newest accessible streetcar into service. The TTC was joined by Federal, Provincial and City officials for car #4604’s first official run on the 504 route. The TTC has two new vehicles on property. Over the next couple of years, we will receive 60 streetcars, bringing the total fleet size to 264. We are grateful for the continued support of all levels of government as we plan for the future growth and ridership in our great city.

Line 3 Bus Replacement Plan kicks off Sunday
The Line 3 Bus Replacement Plan, with full transit priority measures, including an express corridor between Scarborough Centre and Kennedy stations, begins with the November Board Period on Sunday, November 19.

Current interim express service will be replaced by extended bus service between Scarborough Centre and Kennedy on a number of routes. These service changes will reduce travel times and improve the quality of trips for customers travelling between those stations as well as to and from Centenary Hospital, Centennial College, University of Toronto Scarborough Campus and Rouge Hill GO.

5-Year Service Plan and Customer Experience Action Plan
This week, the TTC began its third and final round of engagement to collect feedback on the draft 5-Year Service Plan and Customer Experience Action Plan. The survey underway provides the opportunity for customers and stakeholders to help shape the future of public transit in Toronto. The survey closes on December 6.

Employee Accessibility and Inclusion Survey: Your Voice Matters
To support the TTC’s goal of becoming a more accessible and inclusive workplace for all employees, the Diversity Department, in partnership with the Engineering Department, launched the Employee Accessibility and Inclusion Survey: Your Voice Matters this week. This survey will help the TTC understand the diverse accessibility needs of employees, and identify and remove barriers to accessibility in the workplace. Please make some time in your busy schedule to participate before the survey closes on December 6.
