Message from the Executives

Office of the Chief Executive

I want to remind everyone that the TTC Bus Roadeo & Family Day takes place on Sunday, October 15 at Arrow Road Division. All employees and pensioners, and their families, are invited to cheer on our operating and maintenance finalists who are vying for the championship.

There will be plenty of fun things to do for the whole family. Not only will it be an entertaining day for the kids, it will also make them more aware of public transit and the important role it plays – for the city and for the environment. Stop by to say hello or spend the day with us. The Roadeo kicks off at 9 a.m., with the full Family Day event starting at 10 a.m.

Celebrating diversity throughout October
This month, we’re proud to take part in a few special recognition initiatives to share the unique stories of our employees and celebrate their successes. Diversity and inclusion are priorities at the TTC, and we continue our work to ensure our workplace reflects the city and communities we serve.

Throughout October, the TTC will recognize Women’s History Month by highlighting women who have made a positive impact throughout our organization. She Did, So Now I Can is this year’s theme and it celebrates the actions of women who inspire and impact our lives in a positive way.

The TTC is proud to support women in the workforce as we continue to promote hiring women through various recruitment efforts and events. Our organization strives to make everyone feel empowered and encouraged to pursue their career goals, without fear of gender bias or barriers hindering their progress.

The TTC will also recognize Latin American Heritage Month in October. We will be featuring employees of Latin American descent on our TVs and in MyTTC | Weekly to learn more about what their culture means to them.

No shuttle buses during Saturday’s single-day closure
Earlier this week, TTC staff made a decision not to run shuttles during Saturday’s single-day closure between Spadina and St Andrew stations. It was determined that shuttle buses were a non-viable option for travel due to the amount of construction on University Avenue and Bloor Street. Instead, the TTC is increasing service on all eastbound-westbound surface routes and advising customers to connect to the Yonge side of Line 1. Wheel-Trans will be available on standby in three different locations.

Stay safe.
