Message from the Executives
Office of the Chief Executive
Congratulations to our 2024 Spring Rewards and Recognition recipients! The awards luncheon held yesterday celebrated dozens of employees for their exceptional efforts in providing safe, reliable, inclusive and friendly service in the workplace and in the neighbourhoods we serve.
The TTC is very fortunate to have so many talented individuals working in various fields making a difference. People like Operators Grantley Soudine and Ellen Golding, who serve as role models through positive interactions with customers, or Supervisors like Andrew Noble and Geet Singh, who identify opportunities and make suggestions to improve health and safety in the workplace.
These award winners, and many others in our workforce awaiting your nomination, exemplify the TTC’s vision of moving our city toward a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous future. Please take a moment in your busy days to nominate someone who is making a strong contribution to the TTC’s success.
Bus Roadeo and Family Day
I want to thank everyone at Malvern and Arrow Road divisions for hosting the Bus and Maintenance Roadeo run-offs earlier this month. More than 130 employees participated for a chance to compete in the Grand Championship on Sunday, June 23. This year’s Roadeo Challenge kicks off at Arrow Road at 8 a.m., with Family Day activities officially starting at 10 a.m. Join us for a day filled with fun and excitement for the whole family! We will have shuttle buses running every 10 minutes from the TTC’s Sheppard Distribution Centre, where families and guests are encouraged to park. You can also get to Arrow Road Division by taking the 99 Arrow Road bus.
Welcome to our new Chief Strategy and Customer Experience Officer
Please join me in extending a warm welcome and your support to our new Chief Strategy and Customer Experience Officer, Josh Colle. I look forward to him joining us officially on July 15.
Josh is no stranger to the TTC and the City of Toronto, and I am certain his extensive experience here and with many other large transit agencies will help us serve you and our customers even better.
I want to also acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of both Wendy Reuter and Angela Gibson for taking turns acting in this role over the past year.
TTC Board meets next week
The next TTC Board meeting will be held at City Hall on June 20. Commissioners will be discussing and voting on several reports, including the TTC’s new Anti-Racism Policy and Strategy, TTC/ATU Local 113 Collective Agreement Ratification, TTC Pension Plan Annual Report, and a contract authorization to replace bus hoists at Wilson Garage.
The public meeting takes place at City Hall and will be live-streamed on the Official TTC YouTube Channel starting at 10 a.m. The full meeting agenda is available at ttc.ca.
Stay safe.
