Message from the Executives
Office of the Chief Executive
Since February, bargaining teams from the TTC and ATU Local 113 have been working hard to reach a fair, negotiated collective agreement. ATU Local 113 is our largest union partner, representing approximately 11,500 Operators, Collectors, maintenance workers, station staff, and other frontline employees.
Beginning tomorrow, members of ATU Local 113 will be practicing picketing at a few worksites for the remainder of the week. We know that some ATU Local 113 members may be joining these practice pickets before and after their shifts. Please note that the union has assured us that these practice pickets will not disturb employees’ ability to do their jobs.
ATU Local 113 has indicated that union members will be present at the following locations:
• 1900 Yonge St. on Wednesday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Hillcrest Complex on Thursday, May 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
• Wilson Complex on Friday, May 31, from 5 to 7:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
Currently, bargaining teams from ATU Local 113 and the TTC remain at the table, where we continue to negotiate a new collective agreement to replace the one that expired on March 31, 2024. I remain optimistic that we can reach a deal at the bargaining table.
We remain committed to keeping everyone updated on negotiations as they progress. We encourage both our employees and customers to check our website at www.ttc.ca/bargaining for the most current updates.
Stay safe.
