Message from the Executives

Office of the Chief Executive

The Taylor Swift Eras Tour is officially underway here in Toronto.

The first of six concerts at Rogers Centre took place last night. The second and third shows are on tonight and tomorrow night. We have added a significant amount of extra service and staffing to meet the boost in ridership, particularly for the post-show surges. We have also accounted for additional events at Scotiabank Arena (Raptors on Friday, Leafs on Saturday) and the downtown CUTA Conference and Transit Show.

On concert nights, we are running extra service on Lines 1 and 2. We will also have dedicated Wheel-Trans buses ready at key locations in the downtown core for anyone needing immediate access to the service during an unplanned closure.

My thanks again to everyone involved in preparing and delivering the extra service and security so that our customers, whether local to Toronto or visiting from out of town, get the best transit possible. There is a lot of work that goes into these events and your hard work has not gone unnoticed.

CUTA Annual Conference and Transit Show
It is my great pleasure to welcome to Toronto, and to the TTC, hundreds of transit delegates representing dozens of transit agencies from across Canada. All are in the city for the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) Annual Conference and Transit Show, which kicks off on Sunday. I hope their visit and experience in the city and on our system will be a memorable one. The conference runs until November 20.

Apart from Toronto’s world-renowned attractions – and the excitement that comes with Taylor Swift in town – the TTC and CUTA have planned many exciting tours of our facilities. Please say hello to visitors if you see them in your workplace. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to welcome delegates and lend a hand with directions.
