Message from the Executives
Office of the Chief Executive
In my first weekly message to everyone, I would like to say again how honoured I am to take on the role of Interim CEO of the Toronto Transit Commission. It is a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to lead the third largest public transit carrier in North America.
I have always been impressed with the work done by the TTC and the service you provide. I know a lot goes into putting this service together, and I am looking forward to meeting people from across the organization in the coming weeks and months. In fact, it was great to meet and talk to so many people at the TTC/United Way campaign kick-off yesterday at Hillcrest.
Last year, the TTC raised more than $678,000 through fundraising and donations, and for 2024, our goal is $700,000. We at the TTC are keenly aware of our community’s challenges. We are a core part of the city, and we see its needs up close.
Additionally, I am looking forward to the Hillcrest Open House for United Way on September 28, where we will celebrate its 100th anniversary with employees and the public!
My priority over the next few months is to make sure we keep improving across the organization. I want to hear your ideas on how, working together as one team, we can keep moving forward.
We all know that the TTC faces significant challenges when it comes to our state of good repair and our operating conditions. With your skill and expertise, and with the guidance and support of our Chair and Commissioners, I believe we can make real progress and continue to improve the experience for our customers.
Once again, please stop, say hi, and introduce yourself if you see me. I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can in the coming weeks and months.
Greg Percy
Interim Chief Executive Officer
