Dear Colleagues,

Let me begin by expressing my heartfelt thanks for the incredible warmth and kindness I’ve received in my first days with the TTC. It’s an extraordinary honour to join this iconic organization – and even more so to be part of a team that keeps Toronto moving every day.

This first week has been deeply energizing. I’ve been fully immersed: engaging with our Commissioners, receiving detailed briefings from the executive leadership team, and attending the inaugural meeting of the TTC Board’s new Strategic Planning Committee, expertly chaired by Commissioner Bravo. These early conversations have underscored the scale of our mission, the complexity of our challenges – and most importantly, the passion and pride that fuel this organization and underpins the very reason I decided to join this iconic organization.

Every day, I’ve made it a point to travel on the system – not just to get from A to B, but to listen, observe, and learn. Whether it’s catching a train at rush hour or speaking with frontline staff, it has given me a deeper appreciation of the care, commitment, and expertise that go into delivering service to millions.

One thing has stood out above all: safety must always be our North Star. It is the foundation of public trust and the most important promise we make – to our customers, to each other, and to this city. My commitment is to foster a culture where safety is never compromised, where accountability is shared, and where every voice is valued.

Over the coming weeks and months, I look forward to visiting every part of the organization – divisions, depots, offices, and job sites. I want to hear your experiences, ideas, and aspirations. I firmly believe that leadership starts by listening. Only together can we shape a future that reflects the excellence this city deserves.

Thank you again for such a warm welcome. I’m truly excited for the journey ahead – and all we’ll achieve together.

Celebrating team spirit: TTC Red Rockets shine on the cricket pitch
​In my first week, I had the pleasure of congratulating the Red Rockets Cricket Team for their incredible performance at the CIMA Mayor’s Cup at Sunnybrook Park. Not only did they represent the TTC with pride, but they also outplayed teams from the Toronto Police and Ontario Provincial Police to reach the final. While we were just edged out by the strong team from TD Canada Trust to finish second, the spirit, camaraderie, and passion on display were second to none. Well done, team!
