Message from the Executives

Office of the Chief Executive

The TTC is proud to celebrate Asian Heritage Month in May.

Throughout the month, we’ll highlight the contributions, backgrounds, traditions, and histories that enrich our diverse workplace. I want to thank our employees of Asian heritage who are sharing their stories and experiences through a cultural campaign and special events across the TTC.

This month’s events include a virtual lunch and learn on Monday, May 12. Hosted by Racial Equity Office Manager Monica Zheng, this session will feature Chief Information Officer Dhaksayan Shanmuganayagam and Deepika Gangwani, Manager of Corporate Deliverables for Operations and Infrastructure. Space is limited – please register by May 9.

Joint Health and Safety Committee Day
Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s Joint Health and Safety Committee Day. The forum was a great opportunity to connect, learn, and share ideas to help keep our workplace safe and to recognize the work of our unionized and management committee members.

Safety is a shared responsibility that touches every aspect of our business. Thanks to your diligence, we’ve seen improvements to our Safety, Health, and Environment Management System—leading to stronger teamwork, fewer workplace injuries, and better compliance.

A special thanks to our event organizers. A gathering of this scale wouldn’t be possible without your efforts.

New mentorship program launches
Employee Development launched the TTC Mentorship Program this week.

The program is currently open to non-union employees and will support up to 50 pairs of mentors and mentees working together over one year, beginning in June. The application deadline is May 16. For more details, please visit the dedicated MyTTC | WorkZone page or contact Employee Development Specialist Tammy Smith.
