Message from the Executives
FROM THE CEO: Line 5
Yesterday marked a truly historic moment for our organization with the opening of Line 5 Eglinton, and I want to personally thank every one of you for the role you played in making this long-awaited milestone a reality.
This achievement did not happen overnight. It is the result of years of perseverance, discipline, and belief, often under intense scrutiny, pressure, and complexity. Many of you have carried this project through challenges that tested resolve and patience. That dedication mattered, and it showed.
Iām pleased to share that the first day of the phased opening and introductory service was a success and today has started well. This success reflects months of careful planning, co-ordination, and professionalism across teams. From control rooms to station staff, from Operators to customer support, the pride you take in your work was evident.
Over the weekend, many of you worked in extremely cold conditions, on site, behind the scenes, and across our operations. You did so with resilience, calm, and a shared sense of purpose. That commitment to each other and to the city we serve, speaks volumes about who we are as an organization.
Later this year, Line 5 will transition to full service. As we do, our customers will look to us for guidance, reassurance, and care. I know they will experience the same professionalism, patience, and humanity that define this team.
The opening of Line 5 is more than a new transit service. It is a promise that YOU delivered, and a strong foundation for the future of our city and our network. Take pride in what you accomplished this weekend, and in the high standard you continue to set.
Thank you for your hard work, your perseverance, and your belief in what is possible. What you delivered is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together as One TTC, grounded in trust and united by purpose.
Line 5 is where perseverance meets purpose, and the future begins.
With my sincere thanks,
Mandeep S. Lali
