Message from the Chief Strategy and Customer Experience Officer

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Ehlers to the position of Head of Special Constable Service.

Nicole has more than 25 years of law enforcement expertise. She first joined the TTC in 2007 as a Special Constable, and has held a number of progressively senior positions, including Supervisor (Sergeant), Assistant Manager (Staff Sergeant), and most recently, as the Acting Head of Special Constable Service.

Prior to joining the TTC, Nicole was a Special Constable at GO Transit, supporting the safety of customers and employees. She also worked for Toronto Community Housing as a Provincial Offences Officer before being hand-selected to become a Special Constable within their Special Constable Program pilot.

As Head of Special Constable Service, Nicole will help drive the goals of the Special Constable Service’s Culture Change Program and 10-Point Action Plan, aimed at enhancing processes, improving public perception, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Nicole is a regular advocate for fostering positive mental health and passionately promotes it in the workplace, earning her a Safety Award through the TTC’s Rewards and Recognition program.
