Celebrate Line 5 Eglinton and the communities it connects

Employees are invited to join customers, community members, local businesses, and transit enthusiasts on Saturday, August 29, to celebrate Line 5 Eglinton and the vibrant communities connected along the Eglinton corridor.

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026
Where: Cedarvale Station

Since entering service earlier this year, Line 5 has connected neighbourhoods across the city and improved travel options for customers. This celebration recognizes the people, places, and local businesses that make these communities unique and highlights the connections Toronto’s newest rapid transit line makes possible.

The event will feature:

• Local businesses from across the Eglinton corridor.

• Live performances by local artists and entertainers.

• Family-friendly activities and commemorative giveaways.

• Transit-themed experiences and TTC information displays.

• A TTC pop-up shop.

• An Employee Corner, where employees can enjoy a complimentary coffee and treat while supplies last.

As part of the celebration, the TTC will also be collecting donations of backpacks and school supplies to support children and youth in need. Attendees who donate a backpack, school supplies, or both will receive a commemorative Line 5 coin while supplies last.

More information about the event is posted on the TTC website.

Whether you helped build, launch, support, or operate Line 5, this is an opportunity to celebrate the communities it serves and the collective effort that has helped connect people across Toronto.

We hope to see you there.
